Above the expansive teak deck stands a tall schooner rig - classic in design but state-of-the-art in execution, with masts, spars and standing rigging all in carbon fibre, and domes facilitating full satellite communications for both voice and high speed data. Meteor is the largest yacht in the world to feature carbon fibre standing rigging, developed in collaboration between spar-maker Rondal and carbon rig specialist Southern Composites. High performance carbon spectra sails were developed by North Sails.
